Fresh extensive build on a laser-straight 1968 Plymouth Road Runner finished in PPG Jet Black with a new Legendary black bucket-seat interior, factory console, 440 cubic inch big block, 6-Pack induction, 727 automatic transmission, power steering, and new disc brakes. This black Mopar muscle car has the kind of build story that matters: seven years of restoration work with performance in mind, bare-metal attention, fresh hardware, and a drivetrain built to be more serious than stock.
The original 383 big block was upgraded to a freshly built 440ci engine topped with a new Holley 6-Pack setup. The intake is plumbed and ready for nitrous if more power is ever wanted, but the nitrous has not been used on this car. The engine build includes a .030-over bore, steel rods, Purple cam, 6-Pack rods, 906 heads, electronic ignition, 2800 stall converter, performance manifolds, and new MagnaFlow dual exhaust with correct tips. Power runs through a 727 automatic transmission to an 8 3/4 Sure Grip rear.
The metal work was impeccable, with the car stripped to bare metal from top to bottom before professional paint. The exterior features beautiful Jet Black paint, great panel fit and lines, 440 hood, new chrome bumpers, lots of fresh chrome, new AMD glass, new weather stripping, 20-inch rear and 18-inch front chrome American Racing wheels, and new performance radials.
Inside, the Road Runner has a new Legendary black bucket-seat interior, new fitted carpet, factory center console with correct shifter, new Dakota Digital gauges for accuracy and reliability, and a very nice Soft Touch Mopar steering wheel with the beep-beep Road Runner horn. Underneath, it shows rock-solid detailed floors and trunk, completing the black-on-black Mopar attitude from top to bottom.
